About Me

CURRENT MISSION

On a perpetual journey of self discovery

ABOUT ME

Greetings fellow earthlings! OK let's keep this section as minimally narcissistic as possible.

I strongly believe that one should strive for a full life consisting of activities that make you happy and to gain as much experience as possible. After all a man is nothing but a sum of his experiences. I've found my calling through traveling and that's gonna stick around for a long time to come.

I love its ability to inspire me, to shock me, to sadden me, to educate me, to show me the boundaries we could break if we try, to conjure emotions up within me. From the highs of being invited to a wedding in a foreign country and singing out of tune with the rest of the guests, to feeling the life of a person slip away as you grasp onto his hands to see him through his last moments. This is what makes me tick. I feel it always will.

I like to carry with me a substantial dosage of wit and humour all the time (why so serious?!) Always have a keen eye for adventure too. I'm fun, I'm spontaneous, I'm easy-going, I'm positive but sometimes too much of a risk taker. Then again on the flip side, risk is healthy, risk is necessary, risk is stimulating and without risk, life is just about existing.

Currently I'm pursuing my certificate of competence as a navigational officer. If you have experience in the maritime industry, sailed before as an officer or captain be it on bulk carriers, tankers, offshore or any sort of power driven vessel you have my attention.

*Currently dreaming of the ultimate overland trip from Spore to south america crossing the bering sea from russia to alaska BY SHIP. If you have any information and tips about this your input would be welcomed:)

PHILOSOPHY

Passion creates possibilities.

Never settle for anything less than what you deserve.

You have built sandcastles in the air; now, go and put foundations under them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When i decided i want to meet some of the best individuals and people in the country i'm travelling in.

Interests

scuba diving, mountaineering, guitar jamming, a good laugh(sometimes at myself), good meaningful conversations, gaining new insights and knowledge, good reads, photography, singing in the shower, digging my booger while no one is watching, more recently I've picked up homebrewing. Travelling DUH!

Music, Movies, and Books

I LOVE crime and war flicks. i secretly aspire to be a detective.

oldies, funk rock, anything that makes me tap my feet really..

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

so far...

1) Getting myself involved in CS

2) swimming into the core of a massive tornado of barracudas while diving at Sipadan.

*and my mask kept leaking because i was constantly smiling to myself :D

3) Ate the raw and beating heart of a snake in Vietnam. (Sorry PETA)

4) Took a swim the Ganges river in Varanasi while they were dumping cremated bodies into it. And no i did not die or fall sick.

5) Survived a hit and run accident while motorbiking across Vietnam.

6) Took part in a strike in Nepal.

7) 1 full month of Himalayan trekking in awe inspiring Annapurna Circuit and Base Camp. Epic sunrises, sunsets and starry nights while scrimping on leftover food and muesli due to shortage of money.

8) The opportunity to volunteer in Mother Theresa home for the dying in kolkata. The chance to experience their daily reality.

List shall end here lest it may sound too brag-ish haha. Find out from me.

Teach, Learn, Share

i can teach you how to solve a rubik's cube in less than 3 minutes. make macaroons. I can teach you chinese language. Basic beatboxing. How to dance on a table drunk without breaking your neck. How to choose a good durian fruit. How to take a shower within 2 minutes. You can pick my brain and find out about the places I've been. Picking up french at the moment but it's hard to practice without being conversational.
