About Me

We are a thirty something couple from the Basque Country. We have studied engineering, education and anthropology, nowadays we are teachers and we love travelling and meeting different cultures.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Our main interest in being part of CS is to meet up new people and share our culture, points of view, lifestyles... We want to know things that travel books don't say, taste food in places where locals go and learn from experiences that we live.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC

As Nietzsche said, "Life would be a mistake without music".
We both like to sing a lot. In special events we like to sing together popular songs.

Benat: I have played the trombone for 20 years in many different genres: classical in orchestra and band, jazz in a big band, ska in a young-group, marching bands and fanfares in the festivals... I also play a traditional Basque flute called dultzaina or gaita, similiar to an ancient oboe.

Apart from this we also like, rock, pop or other type of music like blues, bossa nova, latin etc.

MOVIES and BOOKS

Irati is the one that knows much more in these both areas. Specially from Basque writers like, Joseba Sarrionaindia, Bernardo Atxaga (this both you can find them also in English) and much more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Be alive!

Explore the forests of Nicaragua, scuba diving in Thailand, swim in the rivers of Venezuela, visit the Iguazu Falls, trek during a week the Pyrenees, ski in the Carpatians, walk along the whole Basque coast, play music in the beginning of the San Fermin festivals in Iruña-Pamplona, surf in the beaches of Morocco, ride a horse in Mexico, drive from the left in Ireland, teach cooking lessons in Argentina...

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
How to cook, Languages (Basque, Spanish), our traditional dances, songs and music.

Learn:
From your experiences, your traditional history, dances, songs and music, new recipes...

What I Can Share with Hosts

We are talkative people and in the same way, we enjoy listenning to others and learning new things. We also like to share our knowledge about the Basque history and culture (songs, dances, etc.).
