About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to have unique experiences while in Europe. I'm not content to just do the things one is "supposed to do" while in Europe.
PHILOSOPHY
I want to be present in every moment, because I only get one shot at life on earth. Whether it means powering off the cell phone, switching off the internet, or even putting down the book, I want to be present in this life and leave it without regrets for wasted time.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never used couchsurfing, but I've had a couple positive experiences in the past with staying in unfamiliar cities with kind, hospitable hosts.
Interests
I really enjoy music, both listening and playing. I play classical piano. My favorite composers to play are Chopin, Liszt, and Beethoven. I also play saxophone, but I prefer jazz when it comes to that. Fitness is also a big deal for me. I enjoy the challenge of it. Finally, I'm really interested in what I'm studying in school--psychology. I find the relationships between the brain and behavior fascinating, and I would be content to spend my working days after college either researching that or using knowledge in that field to treat patients.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: Lord of the Rings trilogy--J.R.R. Tolkien.
The Kingkiller Chronicles--Patrick Rothfuss.
Music: I appreciate it all, but it has to be really good if it's going to be country or rap. My favorite band is a three piece from Ohio called House of Heroes. So much talent!!
Movies: I'm not a huge movie critic, so I end up enjoying most movies I watch. However, it leaves me without too much of a passion for movies at the same time.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Some friends and I took an impromptu weekend trip to the Dolomite Mountain Range in Northern Italy a couple months ago. Though we didn't do a lot of planning beforehand, the trip turned out splendidly. Actually, because we didn't fully plan things, it ended up surprising us in wonderful ways. As someone who grew up in the middle of the United States, hiking in the mountains is a rare, beautiful treat!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would be happy to teach anybody the basics of music, especially on piano or saxophone if there is one available.
