About Me

Ciao!! I'm an Italian girl studying Social Work in Glasgow!
I love to create cards with my beloved watercolours as well as to doodle and draw just with a simple pencil on paper.

I try to read as much English and American classics as possible in my free time as well as to cook and experiment with foreigner dishes (while I try not to commit a cultural homicide with my international flatmates watching me) .

Joining my Basketball society trainings and attendong gym lessons are my favourite pursuits here, as I find really enjoyable the combination of exercising and surrounding myself with friendly people...and maybe have sufficient motivation to be active the next day instead of staying at home watching Netflix on the sofa!
But from time to time I also need to relax, catching up with series and finding new movies to watch with whoever is free in the surroundings!

As for travelling I really like to walk in the cities I visit, having strolls in the main road and looking around. I love to get "lost" in museums and galleries: I am a visual person that ends up having sore eyes after spending too much time observing and taking photos of what's around.
I also enjoy the nightlife: I'll never forget the nightclubs in Barcelona or the amazing nights in Glasgow, both of the times spent with a group of people met in the hostels where I was staying. Therefore if you like clubbing and you're seeking company, count on me!I will always be available for a night of drinking and dancing 'till dawn!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to meet new people, make new friends and visit new places; a friend of mine suggested CouchSurfing as the best way to do all of it.
I thought it would have been worth giving it a shot and here I am!

I am a sociable and polite person, therefore, I will be friendly but respect my host's spaces: I would love to spend time with you visiting your city or just having a good time chatting over a drink in the evening. However, if you have work or other plans, I will totally arrange my day trying to not disturb you!
I'm also a clean and tidy girl: I would never dirty something without cleaning it right after and I always avoid going off leaving a messy room.

Music, Movies, and Books

My dad used to switch radio stations or even CDs in the car or even at home, very easily. Now, with the Internet at your, I mean, his fingertips the musical swing is even more peculiar!
I remember our car journeys, listening to Classical music/ Operas and Abba; screaming made up English with Nirvana and three songs later enjoying Madonna's hits. Singing Michael Jacksons's "Bad" and later on dozing off with The Mamas & Papas.

I grow up with a bizarre range of music genres, therefore, I'm not picky at all. Indeed I can't say I have a favourite genre: for example, I have a soft spot for the old and relaxing Irish singer Enya but at the same time I do love clubbing and jumping at the newest disco music!

As for books, I love novels, especially classic as Little Women, Fahrenheit 451, To kill a mockingbird, 1984, A brave new world and the like.

I really like to go to the Cinema and as far movies are concerned I don't have any preferences. I can watch whatever you feel like except for one genre: horror film!! I can't stand the numerous heart attacksI have just for the cliff-hanger of what's going to happen to the not-so-lucky protagonist, not to mention the gore...I'm a chicken, I know, but you wouldn't like watching a film with me jumping in your lap every time something scary(at least for me) suddenly happens!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leaving my loved Italy and everyone I knew to spend my gap year as an au pair in the gorgeous Wales.

Teach, Learn, Share

I totally love to share and learn new things: from cooking to sharing general knowledge ( I've got a soft spot for history and linguistic facts!).
For instance, I learnt to make an (almost) perfect tortilla de patate thanks to a Spanish au pair or I talked for hours with a French student about the different accents and words our languages had in common!
And let's not get started with my pizza done from scratch that my host family absolutely love... you could be the next one telling me what you think about it;)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm Italian, guys. I can cook or even teach you loads of my country's most famous dishes!
In addition, I do enjoy chatting in my not outstanding English and especially having a good time with friends, both old and new...more than ever over a glass of ale in a cosy pub or a margarita in a nightclub!

I'm new to Glasgow but I'm getting to know it better and better walking around with my flatmates. We can wander in the city while I try to give you a tour (and try to find out the right way while I nervously smile at you because l just realized we took the wrong turn).
Or if you're here just for the evening, we can go out and I can take you to not too expensive pubs and bars where we can chat over a nice pint of beer!
