Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on Couchsurfing mainly because of my upcoming trip to Hong Kong, I must admit. But also, my sister has made lots of positive experiences on this platform and encouraged me to sign up for a while now. So I too would like to meet friends from all over the world!

Interests

I am a student of sinology (basically China studies), which is why I now speak a passable Chinese. I studied one year abroad, in Beijing.
I grew up in a Spanish/German household. So my mother is Spanish and my father half Chinese half German. (Very interesting story if you would ever like to hear about it). I have family in Italy, so I spend a lot of time there too. I am a passionate language learner and hobby chef.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to southern China (Anhui province) to meet my ancestors. They live in a very simple village and hadn't had contact with the rest of the family for over twenty years. The family was torn apart by Chinese civil war a long time ago and were slowly rebuilding connection. (I know I don't look asian at all, I'm only quarter Chinese)

What I Can Share with Hosts

I could cook Italian or Spanish food for you, help with housekeeping..
