About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be an extraordinary human being

ABOUT ME

I live in Asheville, NC. I love everyone. I am the kind of guy who can walk into a place and makes friends with all. Outgoing is an understatement.

PHILOSOPHY

Live let live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Rob's Homeless Adventure Tour 2018:

About to start travelling again. Last time I did this, I terrorized The States for 8 months. Now it's time to terrorize the rest of the word starting with Australia and Southeast Asia. So far on the itinerary: Syndey, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane, Cairns, Bali, Singapore, and Thailand... Be a part of my next adventure and host me! In return, you'll hear wild stories and create new ones with me. And you'll have a new friend to stay with in Santa Monica when I return.

THE DISTANT PAST (2011):
I did live near San Francisco but put everything in storage and live in a van down by the river, in other words I sleep in my truck or stay with friends but as I approach Montana I have just started relying on the site more and will begin to build up more references.

I hosted a young guy named David but not through the site officially. He is on Couch Surfing and is suppose to write a reference shortly. My friend Raven met him on the BART (subway). He was making a sign out of cardboard and my friend referred him to me because I was about to move out of my house and start the Schwartz Homeless Adventure Tour aka SHAT. He stayed for a week, he helped me put my stuff in storage and helped paint my room back to the original ugly white it once was. I used my artistic abilities to temporarily turn him into a 21 year old a month early. Amazing things can be done with some gouache paint and a little bit of clear nail polish. Those sixes turn into fives so easily ;)

2012 to 2018
After I returned to a more conventional lifestyle, I returned my dues by hosting extensively when I lived in Hollywood. For that past few years I have been focusing on my career and would like to open my newest place up to surfers but I live in a studio and I would probably try to molest you, so I wouldn't recommend it, unless of course that is your thing then by all means.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

From Couch Crashes to near superhuman like situations, the experiences have been incredible. I find myself couch surfing unofficially and officially. I meet people and I crash. Right when I think things will calm down and some level of normalcy will return. Insanity ensues. I wake up in the morning and have to ask myself. Is this really my life? Can this get any better?

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Brave New World, State of Fear, Catch Me If You Can, How to Be Invisible, Infectious AIDS: Have We Been Misled? by Professor Peter Duesberg of UC Berkeley, On The Road, etc

Music: You haven't heard most of these and that is because I am a close minded punk rock music snob, but I know what I love :) Hot Water Music, Dillinger Four, Jawbreaker, Tiltwheel, The Gaslight Anthem, Pinback, The Draft, Chris Wollard and the Ship Thieves, The Dopamines, Cleveland Bound Death Sentence, Strung Out, Gallows, The Blacktop Cadence, The Deviates, Small Brown Bike, At the Drive In, Pegboy, Leatherface, Pinhead Gunpowder, Grade, Boysetsfire, Husker Du, Bob Mould, Tom Waits, RADON, Get Bent, Random Orbits

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent several summers surfing in Kauai. Jumped out of a plane. Done back flips off waterfalls. Been detained in Canada. Picked up hobo hitch hikers. Cooked Salmon out of a truck in the rainforest on LSD. Made out with girls in seconds of meeting them wielding nothing but a fake Australian accent.

Visited Japan. Germany for the world cup. Holland, Greece, Britain, Mexico, Vancouver, and Whistler, Canada.

California, Florida, Arizona, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Montana, Ohio, Minnesota, Iowa, Utah, Nevada, and the list keeps building!
