I am a sustainability engineer working on designing green buildings and reducing the environmental impacts of the built environment.

I also do some art, and have had a few exhibitions. My work explores colours and texture using spray paint and printing media. My latest works use CNC machining techniques to replicate natural patterns and create new prints and sculptural forms.

My wife Emma is a lawyer in Melbourne and works in policy to reduce family violence and improve the legal system to help victims.

I am a voracious reader and have too many favourites to list.

The most recent books that have made an impact are the Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, and the My Struggle series by Karl Ove Knausgaard.

Trekked for 8 hours through the jungle in Flores (Indonesia), in a monsoon downpour, cutting our way with machetes, to reach a tribal village with our friend William Doi.
