ABOUT ME

I am an easy going, generally optimistic person. I am energised by the company of people and I like to meet and get to now people whenever I can. I suppose if you were to ask about political leanings I would say decidedly left of centre, but I'm no staunch socialist, just someone who believes that we all deserve a chance in life regardless of the situation we are born into.
By day I am a teacher of History, Politics and Sociology. It's a job which brings a heavy work load, but can be very gratifying, and I love to see young people getting enthused about subjects that I consider to have use beyond the school gate!
Outside of work I play drums in a band, I like to try and keep fit (to make up for the smoking!) and generally hang out with people. I am also involved with organising and running a multi-arts festival in Sweden which becomes a second job for a few months of the year at least!

Interests

I love playing, and being around interesting and exciting music.
I also love sports of pretty much any kind! Particularly Football and Tennis, but I'll try anything and tend to find that I can get drawn in by most sports.
In my more geeky moments I'd say I actively follow current affairs beyond the needs of the job, and try to stay in touch with what's going on in the world.
I'm (nearly) always interested in trying new things and meeting new people.
