One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Tianenmen Square, Beijing, June 6, 5:26 am flagraising. I went with two friends thinking we would casually stroll up, but found that we were in a crowd of literally thousands of Chinese who came to the flagraising. As I looked over the crowd with the sun rising over the Forbidden City, I realized that everyone around me had not come to mourn a tragedy that had happened here year ago, but were celebrating their own country's freedom and prosperity. Incredible.
