CURRENT MISSION

Backpacking Europe, six countries in five weeks - June 15th - July 21st! We want to experience other cultures, meet new people, make new friends, and try every kind of food we encounter.

ABOUT ME

Yes, we are American. But if you give us the chance, we'd like to meet you and let you know that not all Americans are greedy, rude, and inconsiderate capitalists 24/7. However we do fit a few American stereotypes. One being that we are pretty naive to the world, but we are excited to engage new and different cultures.

About Brennah: Well, Spencer and I went to Europe June 15th 2010. it was an awesome experience for the both of us. I love photography, one day I would like to be a photographer.I hate fish and all seafood!! BLAH !! I've lived in Oklahoma all my life, but love to travel. I (Brennah) am 26 and I am a student, but I just got my Associates degree in MArch and I'm going to get my bachelors degree also!

About Spencer: I'm your typical Asian American guy,32 years old. I grew up in a rural farming community of 2000 people in northwestern Illinois. My favorite food is pho and two things I could never live without would probably be my iPhone and the internet although spending 36 days stranded on an island without them sounds like just the kind of thing I'd be willing to pay to try doing at least once. So I guess I could live without them as long as it was on purpose if that makes any sense. I'm really into music. I have traveled outside of the U.S. twice for work-related conferences. One was in Japan and the other was in Norway - absolutely loved both experiences. I'll try and update more about myself later but for now all I have to say is that I'm really excited to experience backpacking Europe this Summer with my girlfriend Brennah.

PHILOSOPHY

Spencer: I think that life is hard and that when you find people who support you and whom you want to support, the difficulties in life become meaningful and worth bearing. I think life is a learning experience and I am interested in trying new things and going places I haven't been to yet.

We couchsurfed with some different people in Europe and our experiences were better than we expected! We were hosted by some amazing people and it was a great way to get to know people in other countries.

Muzyka, filmy i książki

Brennah: The Notebook is my favorite movie, other than that I love horror films. I love all music except country, blah!

Spencer: Movies: Documentaries, indie films, and everything else just depends on the movie. Music: I like all kinds of music from pop to downtempo. I don't like death metal and I don't like smooth jazz. Books: Jon Krakauer, David Sedaris, George Saunders, Malcolm Gladwell, Richard Dawkins, Hemmingway, Fitzgerald, Sartre, Camou, Nietzsche, and the list goes on...

Brennah: Our backpacking trip across Europe was my favorite experience. Meeting new people and getting to try new things was something I will never forget. I hope to go backpacking again soon!

Spencer: Cliff diving into the Pacific Ocean in Hawaii was awesome. Also visiting a Zen Buddhist Temple in Japan was pretty cool.
