Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Finished working in China this summer and just moved to San Diego to pursue my masters.
ABOUT ME
I'm from Ohio in the US, and after going to university there I taught English in Seoul, Korea. After Korea I traveled SE Asia, worked in Australia, and lived in Hangzhou, China. I recently moved back to the US to study International Affairs in San Diego as part of a two year program for UCSD.
PHILOSOPHY
Don't worry so much, enjoy life while you can and play the cards that you're dealt (however creatively that is)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I signed up when living in Seoul and attended a few events with fellow CS in the area. So far on my trips in SE Asia I surfed with locals in the Philippines, Thailand, Loas, Vietnam, Singapore and Indonesia. I haven't surfed in awhile, but hopefully I'll be traveling soon and can meet more interesting people!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfing in Asia has been a lot of fun and much more rewarding than just staying in a hotel or hostel. I enjoy those experiences as well, but meeting locals is a great way to learn about the culture and get an inside scoop that you would otherwise miss out on.
Interests
I enjoy learning about each place I visit- languages, history, culture, ect. In my free time I like playing sports and exercising- basketball, tennis, running, hiking. My interests are wide-ranging...whether it be stuffing my face with new foods, going out clubbing, relaxing and chatting with new friends - I am pretty flexible.

Music, Movies, and Books
I have a wide range but generally enjoy nonfiction books about travel, history, current events (basically my interests listed above). As for music I prefer hip hop / r&b but am willing to try and sing anything if karaoke is involved.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
hmmm, camping under the stars in Namibia and hiking through a blizzard on Hallasan in Jeju, South Korea first come to mind. Many great memories, hard to say!
Teach, Learn, Share
I like meeting people who can give me new perspectives / insights and want to learn from me as well.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I've done my fair share of traveling and try to bring a unique and open perspective when I meet new people, especially those who enjoy learning about others. I'm thrilled when locals want to show me their city and hope they also enjoy having me!
