CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
Currently residing in a little post-industrial town called McDonald (yes, like the restaurant har har). I spent a year teaching at a university and then six additional months at a private institute in South Korea. Despite the potential stereotype regarding this ex-pat position, it is not my personal goal to solely explore the bars and/or genre of available beers if and when a) you crash on my coach, or b) I crash on yours. Yet I edit this as I sip a whiskey coke.
Other random stuff:
I'm looking for a job as of now. Learning a little guitar. Read some books sometimes, like "How to Win Friends and Influence People", mainly because I don't know how to win friends and influence people. I can be sarcastic sometimes, and real positive and concerned at other times. Much of it depends on how an individual and I react to each other, but that's fairly true of most humans, and other animals for that matter.
I, like many others here, enjoy the convenience of hostels when I'm traveling, but am wanting to do more than merely scratch the surface of a region via photography and regional food sampling. I do not expect a grand tour of a region if I end up on your couch. I just enjoy the opportunity to experience something closer to the "real local life."
PHILOSOPHY
"What does God need of a starship"...think about it...seriously...
If you can't make a decision between two things, try to combine them. Almost everything in moderation. Its best to feel better about yourself at the end of the day than to injure your self-worth with an immediately self-serving act.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
As I said before, I'm living with the parents right now, but its good times. My home is 30 minutes outside of Pittsburgh, which is accessible by public bus (though it runs infrequently). Pittsburgh is a nice, friendly city of three rivers, Heinz ketchup, a great football team, the Andy Worhal Museum. There is no shortage of bars either. Basically, I'd recommend staying at my place if you want to see a small, post-industrial coal town on the rebound, a different, somewhat depressing slice of America. My parents are cool, but I have to get their approval for such visits in advance, as I don't pay the mortgage or rent.
Finally, as a potential coach surfer near you, I can make the following...
Contractual Guarantees:
-I will shower everyday
-I will not snore (never have really)
-I will laugh at your jokes
-I will clean up after myself (dishes etc)
-I will respect requirements unique to your home (ex. toilet seat up/toilet seat down dilemma)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I met a family in Darkhan, Mongolia and stayed with them for two nights. Surfed with two great people in Kosice as well...hopefully the list grows.
