I'm a 26 year old PhD student from the North of England. My PhD is in statistics and I model the spread of infectious diseases, which used to be quite niche. I spend most of my spare time Swing Dancing, I dance, teach, and organise. The few nights when I'm not doing that I'm playing D&D or just spending time with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am going on a solo interrailing trip! I was meant to be going with a group of friends and dancing my way across europe with them, but shortly before we were supposed to leave I tripped over my own foot and broke my toe, not one over the other, but the same foot over itself. Its due to heal the day they return from their trip... so I'm going alone! But now everything will be more expensive and I would love to meet people on my travels, so I'm hoping some couch surfing will get both those birds with one stone!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love everything 80s for music, but swing holds a special place in my heart. I know the entirety of Shrek off by heart, stage directions included. Favourite books include 1984, Dune, Catch 22, The Princess Bride, and How to Win Friends and Influence People.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my last interrailing trip I managed to throw my passport and my paper interrail ticket and my friends interrail ticket in the bin before getting on a non-stop train between two countries. That was pretty amazing. Oh! and it was bin day... I solved it ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I am always happy to teach Swing Dancing/Lindy Hop and spread the joy of it around the world. I want to learn everything but I wouldn't say no to photography lessons. Share stories with me, I love stories.
