About Me
ABOUT ME
Okey! Hum. Right, my name is Benjamim, but you can call me Ben. It's easier!
I'm from Porto, but right now, I'm finishing a one year volunteer program working with a Cultural Organization and a Day Care for disabled children in Nicosia, Cyprus (yes, it's middle-east, and yes, for a Portuguese it gets too much fuckin' warm in here), but besides that, it's an amazing place!
However, Im open minded and fond of new experiences, specially if it involves adrenaline (I have vertigo, but I really want to jump off a plane!)
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe diem.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
WHY?
And why not?!
I'm a beginner couch surfer, actually just hosted a few people so far, and surfed another few times, but the few that already happened were, I have to say, very positively surprising, I mean, people are amazing!
I believe that everyone has a lot of amazing things to share, and to tell the truth.
Interests
I'm very open minded when it comes to interests, actually, I find an interest and fascination in almost everything that is worth appreciating! But that are things that come first of course. I will never say no to traveling or a nice art exhibition, ah, and of course, very good food with a glass of wine!
- arts

- cinema
- youth exchanges
- port wine
Music, Movies, and Books
For books I have to choose the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, for it's peculiar way of writing. When it comes to cinema, I just can't choose one or two, neither three..
So music! Ok. I like pretty much everything, but if I have to narrow it to one, I would probably say... San Cisco.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On a Thursday I discovered a post in FB about a volunteer program in Cyprus (which by the way, I didn't even knew exactly were it was). Contacted the agency and got a Skype meeting on the next Friday morning. By the afternoon of the same day I got an answer, I was selected for the program! Next Sunday night I took the plane to live and work as a volunteer in Cyprus (the place I didn't even knew exactly where it was) for one year!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share all my experiences and learnings throughout the countries I've visited and the year of volunteer I did.
And how to cook like a Portuguese, seriously, our food is amazing! Trust me.
