About Me

Hi, I'm a mid-twenties overeducated dude from LA. My fiance (aka best friend and love of my life) is also overeducated. She's still in law school and can't take off to travel. I'm a big soccer fan and learning to play the mandolin. I've done a decent amount of traveling, mostly in South Asia and Israel, but am particularly eager to see more of the U.S.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I graduated from law school in May and took the bar in July. However, I don't start work till November.
Three months?!? Score. With that time I'm hoping to travel the US on a shoestring budget (I'm living off left-over loans). I'm attending a wedding in Connecticut at the end of Aug. and am slowly making my way there starting in the mid-west.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big audiobook person (Hello Los Angeles Commutes!)

This year I've listened to: What Money Can't Buy, Michael Sandel; The Exodus, Dick Friedman; The Dispossessed, Ursula K. Le Guin; Why We Sleep, Matthew Walker; The Girl with the Lower Back Tatoo, Amy Schumer; Shortest Way Home, Pete Buttigieg; A Fighting Chance, Elizabeth Warren; Killing Commendatore, Haruki Murakami; and a few books by David Sedaris. I think I've covered almost every piece of his.

I'll admit, I'm not a big TV/ movie person. I do watch a good amount of soccer though. Besides that, I like animated and superhero movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once took a train trip from Dhaka, Bangladesh to New Delhi, India stopping along the way. Various friends tagged along for different legs as I visited many of the holiest sites of the Buddha. It was a good time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm learning Mandolin. Let's both home by the time I visit I've improved a bit. In general, I love learning. I studied Philosophy and Public Affairs in college, so I'm always game for big-picture conversations.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversations, for the most part. I'm open to other things or tasks.
