About Me

"So, god created me and told to everybody... Figure it out yourselves!"

My name is Benjamin, I’m French, I’m 21 years old and what I like the most in life is eating. Ok, let’s be serious for a moment : I like travelling, meeting new people, laughing, make people laughing, taking risks (cf. Europe Trip by hitchhiking), and my absolute vocation, my sense of life : foreign languages. I LIVE LIFE 150%!

Most of the time, people recognize me for my sense of humor and my explosive personality like B*TCH SLAY!!! (Calm down, mama). I laugh all the time, I listen to b*tchy musics, I tell silly jokes, I’m not ashamed of nobody’s look, but I get serious and focused on the situation when applicable. I’m a funny person who can be seen as harmless most of the time, but when there’s something that I need to say… I say it.

You know what, I have lived in Dijon for 20 years and before I found job in Greece, I couldn't handle this city anymore because of the inhabitants' way of thinking like "Dijon is so famous about wine, gingerbread and liquor, we're the best, we look like fancy people..."

Oh, and NO, NO, NO, NO and NO again, there aren't only Paris and the French Riviera in France. We have very beautiful places like Strasbourg (I recommend) or Lyon, Annecy... On the other hand I have never been to the west side of France.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To be honest and as far as I can remember, I always have been attired by China and Asian countries. I mean, I’m highly attracted by foreign languages in general, but I don’t know, I feel an intense connection between Asia and me. Going in China for the first time would definitely be a dream come true. I can’t wait for this day to come, and I can tell you, everything can happen to me afterwards, a truck can roll over me, I would die in peace!

Because you know, in general, I have never seen my future life in France, in the middle of old people pouring wine, complaining all the time especially about politics, close-minded, speaking only French because “it’s enough”... That’s not how I see my future, I don’t recognize myself in French mentality and way of thinking / living. There are more or less 200 countries in the world, so it’s made to be visited and not only staying at one place?!

Music, Movies, and Books

Yeah, I listen to b*tchy provocative commercial music. Relax, that’s not a crime, it’s just that I listen nothing before 2000’s ahah. Why? Well, as we say in French, you have to live with your time.

I guess that the provocative Benjamin is a shade of my personality, you may see him sometimes, if you get along with and know me enough!

My favorite movie of all times : Ghost In The Shell by Rupert Sanders. Anyway, If I had to choose a person to be during a few hours, one day, month, year, decade... I would definitely say... Lucy. Scarlett Johansson, love you baby.

Here's a quick list of movies that I really liked. Each one defines a shade of my incredibly big personnality :

- Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain by Jean-Pierre Jeunet (2001),
- Inception by Christopher Nolan (2010)
- Lucy by Luc Besson (2014)
- Inferno by Ron Howard (2016)
- Sausage Party by Conrad Vernon (2016)
- Joy by David O. Russell (2015)
- Pandora by Park Jeong-woo (2016)
... Others will come, let me a little bit of time to remember my lazy french past life in his typic comfort zone :')

RuPaul's Drag Race is an American reality competition television series produced by World of Wonder for Logo TV and, beginning with the ninth season, VH1. The show documents RuPaul in the search for "America's next drag superstar."

RuPaul plays the role of host, mentor, and head judge for this series, as contestants are given different challenges each week. RuPaul's Drag Race employs a panel of judges, including RuPaul, Michelle Visage, Ross Mathews, Carson Kressley, and a host of other guest judges, who critique contestants' progress throughout the competition. The title of the show is a play on drag queen and drag racing, and the title sequence and song "Drag Race" both have a drag-racing theme.

About books... Now, you must probably saying to yourself : "he's a young and crazy boy, of course he doesn't read, too busy between listening Frozen, Nicki Minaj..." If you think that, let me tell you that you are not completely wrong, but wrong enough!

I mean, I really love reading books like 1984 by George Orwell (what a masterpiece...) and others! Ok, that's my only recent red book, but that doesn't mean I do not like to read 😜

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On January the 6th 2017, I left Dijon with a heavy backpack, heading to an Europe Trip by hitchhiking because... You only have one life! Now, I have done the first part of my crazy project and I came back to France on February the 22nd 2017.

In total, I've done approximatively 5000 kilometers by hitchhiking. Moreover, my adventures by hitchhiking are not finished at all. I have plenty of projects in my head.

Alright, I hear you thinking loudly like « This is too dangerous », « People pick up nobody these times » nianiania... There are only borders in your mind ! **** standards. I met 43 drivers who picked me up and I have nothing to say about their clean behavior.

I'm that type of person who's always saying « Challenge accepted » after someone says « You won't make it » or « This is not possible ». I like challenges. As I say : « Everything is possible in this ******ed up world. You just have to find the determination and the courage to realize your craziest dreams. Dream big, live fast... No matter what they say ».

I have hitchhiked through Barcelona, Madrid, Lisboa, Paris (I took a flight from Lisboa to Paris), Luxemburg, Brussels, Rotterdam, The Hague, Amsterdam, Bremen, Hamburg, Lübeck, Flensburg, Odense and Copenhagen.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In
