About Me

Hiya folks,

Hope you're all well,

I'm Swedish born of Bosnian decent and shaped by the Irish culture after living there as an expat for years like, a bleeding hodepodge of cultures I am. I'm new to couchsurfing.com but I've couchsurfed for many years at friends or at acquaintances I've met during my travels.

In general I'm very sociable, extroverted, enjoy a good drink and laugh and get along with most people. In my spare time I train Krav Maga three times a week and cycle a lot - it's a good compensation for the amount if time I spend reading scientific articles and debating with my classmates about the lack of materialist theory in anthropological and sociological texts.

Right now I've completed my bachelors' in Social Anthropology and I'm currently studying a 2yr masters' - after that I can call people uneducated ignoramuses when they're making judgemental remarks on other cultures, while having an even higher diploma to prove it. I also tattoo as a hobby, I've had a life long interest for art and decided my next canvas will be skin.

Otherwise, I've always been far to the left, queer and been an active LBTQ+ and political activist, nowadays just a armchair activist as my studies take up too much time. I'm straightforward and confident in my beliefs, if you disagree with me it's fine as opinions on politics or worldview don't necessarily define someones character. I'm reflective and try to understand other peoples worldviews as the anthropologist I am.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on couchsurfing both for hosting and being hosted, I don't mind hosting people who gladly grab a drink and some nice food - don't expect me to take too much of your time, it's amazing to hang out but you just like me are a free person, if you want company on a night out or a tour guide I'm down for it, if you want to have dinner or a drink before being on your merry way that is equally acceptable.

At this current point in time I'm currently in-between housholds and in the process of moving, thus I have no possibilty to host anyone right now.

Music, Movies, and Books

The beauty of music is always finding new things, thus I'm not restricted to any genres even if I've been a punkrocker in my teenage years - music plays from morning to night in my hosehold and for every good song there will be a bad one playing while I'm repreating "this is one killer track, aye!?"

For books it's mostly scientific journals of all kinds but I do enjoy ol' sci-fi and dystopian books - a favorite is probably Roadside Picknic by the Strugatsky Brothers.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I got drunk on Rakija and then illeagally climbed the Pyramid of Tirana

Teach, Learn, Share

I can always teach you some anthropological and sociological theory, or how to make your own moonshine

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good conversions and experiences of travelling, someone to exchange music with and discuss the current state of the world

Also, I have an arsenal of dad jokes and they all suck
