About Me

Hey! I am a fun loving guy who really likes meeting new interesting people. I am on this site to meet amazing people and make friendships all over the world! I grew up in Los Angeles and graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in economics. Just finished up a job in San Francisco researching blockchain and moving to NYC when I get back to the US.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel and want to be able to better connect with people along the way! I love the idea of a global community of amazing people that help each other out. It's one of the best ways I know to really experience another culture. My best travel memories have involved couch surfing!

Interests

I have a wide range of interests! I have a passion for learning. I can often be found binge reading books and the occasional couple hours on Netflix. Recently, I have been getting into stand-up comedy and improv. I also love hiking, scooter riding, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I genuinely enjoy discussing economics and politics (happy to not talk about them as well ;) ). Obviously, I love to travel!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music wise, I love pretty much anything from the 60's such as the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, Can, etc. Love going to see cool new bands preform as well! Current favorites are The Babe Rainbow hailing from New Zealand and Chui Wan from Beijing. My movie taste is eclectic ranging from classics like the godfather to cheesy kung fu, especially anything with Bruce Lee. Books include anything ranging from short novels to intense textbooks.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I had an amazing opportunity to travel to the small village of Gode, Ethiopia as part of a medical team led by a doctor who had grown up there. We were able to help a lot of people with life changing surgeries including c-sections, goiter removals, and cleft lip repair. I want to find more ways to give back while traveling!

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn as much as I can about different languages and cultures. I can share my critical perspective on American culture, history, and our current mess of a political system. I can teach basics of guitar, jiu-jitsu, and stand-up comedy if anybody is interested!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love to laugh, dabble in guitar, and like to believe I can hold an intelligent conversation on most topics. I can also have fun and funny conversations! I am also more then happy to help around the house!

I believe it is critical to treat a CS host's home with total respect and to leave it better then I arrived!
