First of all, I'm not travelling alone. I'm travelling with my girlfriend Svenja.
In 2014 / 2015 we travelled around Australia with our own campervan. After this amazing time we worked for a few month in Germany to save some money for our next big trip. Now we are here in New Zealand to see as much as possible from this beautiful country and meet the locals.
After two weeks tramping and six weeks hitchhiking we decided to buy our little car called Robbie, which travelled with us the last months. Unfortunately we already sold Robbie. Now we are hitchhiking again but we still have our own tent so we camp everytime we can. To meet more locals we also want to use couchsurfing as well.
In Germany Svenja is a management assistant in wholesale and foreign trade and I'm working as a plumber. We decided to chuck our jobs and start travelling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We are here to meet the locals and not only to find a place to sleep. We think a city or town has more to offer than only tourist attractions. In our opinion a place comes only alive through its people. We think that couchsurfing is a good way to get closer to your place.

Interests

We are both interested in hiking, wild life, nature, music, road trips, going out with our friends and meeting new people.
Svenja loves reading, likes to go to the cinema and listen to music.
I'm particularly interested in turning old things into new things and google everything I don’t know.

Music, Movies, and Books

We read and heard a lot of books in the last month. Our favorited books are from Sebastian Fitzek, Frank Schätzing, Henning Mankell, Ken Follett, Rick Yancey, Michael Ende and Andreas Gruber.
Svenja loves romantic movies, Walt Disney movies, horror movies, films based on novels and so much more. Her all-time favourites: “The Lion King” and “The Green Mile”. She likes to listen to singer-songwriter and German artists (Ed Sheeran, Jack Johnson, Philipp Poisel, Damien Rice, Milow, Laith Al-Deen, etc.).
I love rock and reggae (Metallica, Linkin Park, Limp Bizkit, Flogging Molly, Bob Marley, etc.). My all-time favourite movie is “Into the Wild”. I like to watch thrillers and documentary films.
