Overview
About Me
I've just finished studying Graphic Design(and also kind of Web development and art history) in the beautiful city of Burlington, VT and have returned to Austria as an Au Pair to better my german skills and prepare to (hopefully) study for a Masters in Urban Development. I grew up on an island on the east coast of the US and have lived in Europe just short of a year now, accumulatively.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
The family I am an Au Pair for quite spontaneously announced they're going to Florida for a week so I quite spontaneously bought an Interrail ticket. My german teacher introduced me to this website this morning and I thought it was the coolest idea. Looking forward to surfing some couches in Northern Europe!

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm learning to love most music! I really think it only partly has to do with taste but also exposure and context! Show me some new music! I'd love to hear it!
I feel similarly about movies as music but when I watch movies with people I love horror, phycological thrillers, and coming of age films.
I have lots of books! but they're in America and I miss them. They're mostly about design, art, and cooking! But I love Harry Potter!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In one week I nearly missed a flight from Bratislava to Dublin; saw a Bog Body; ate the best fish and chips of my life; got to hang out with an Irish friend in Dublin I had met the week before in Vienna; flew to Istanbul to meet friends; realized our plans to find each-other in Istanbul were complete shit, we didn't even realize there were two major airports; saw some beautiful Qurans and Mosques; ate some amazing kabab; flew back to Vienna; took a train to Carinthia; had easter with a friends family; randomly drove to venice for the afternoon; rode a boat; had a coffee; went back to Vienna the next morning. It wasn't much of a respite but it was an amazing adventure!
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to cook and teach people how to. I can make a lot of "American foods" really well, like a proper apple pie, mac'n'cheese, etc. I lived in Texas for a summer and learned to make a lot of Tex-Mex, I make a mean Migas! Its like this amazing scrambled egg taco thing. And since I've been in Austria, I've been learning to make some really cool dishes. I think my favorite so far has been Germknödel!
I'd love to learn more languages. I'm currently learning German and would love any help I could get! I'm about a b1 level. I love learning bits of other languages too! It would be so awesome to at least learn how to be polite in as many languages as possible!
I know Vienna really well! I've been to lots of cafes and been in most of the Art Museums. I live on the edge of the city which I think most tourists don't think to adventure out to. It's really pretty and has some of the best local food and drink!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't know that I'll physically have much with me to share other than my clothes and Harry Potter und der Stein der Weisen. Hopefully we can share some fun adventures then!
