Overview
About Me
Most hosts seem to dig me. I'm ridiculously easy to get along with and I love sharing other folks' passions. I have traveled all over the United States in some pretty amazing ways. I've hitch hiked and hopped a few trains, been on band tour and ride shared or rode busses. In the last few years I have become infatuated with bicycle touring though. I've ridden down the west coast of the USA and even did a coast to coast ride. As you read this I am either on my way to Europe or already there and riding. Obviously a place to stay for a night or two would go a long way in my book. Sometimes I am more comfortable under the stars than on a bed, heads up, and I am always eager to hear your stories. I have a nasty habit of requesting last minute, but I am a jack of all trades and can help out if you are in need
PHILOSOPHY
See the beauty of the world and maybe bring some to it
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I love meeting new folks. That is one reason I adore CS. As a guest I can offer stories from my travels (believe them or not,) a helping hand on a project or in the kitchen, advice for traveling on the cheap or, if busking went well, even a pint at the pub.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
These days I use Warmshowers more than CS, but I've couch surfed a bit all over the United States. I've even been to the CS headquarters! Every place I've had the privilege of surfing has been wonderful. They were seasoned members of the community and gave me some excellent pointers. My hosts even left me loving references. I can't wait to meet more and more wonderful folk all over the world!
Interests
I love nature and most everything about it. I love to hike and I dig camping. I'm no stranger to a kitchen and I like to help other people cook. I'm a musician and I primarily play jazz and blues sax. I even carry a minisax while on bicycle tour. Let's jam!!!

Music, Movies, and Books
I could fill this box a thousand times with what I'm into media wise. I'll try to make it simple. I dig most anything that isn't pointlessly violent, overly angry, super depressing or straight up lies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, being a Kansas boy, I think the most amazing thing I've done was get the hell out of Kansas! I go back maybe once a year and I keep seeing the same people I grew up with. Most seem miserable and bored. A few go on vacation, but none that I can think of have traveled. That and I've ridden a bike almost 7,000 miles on various tours and I'm about to add several more thousand to that in Europe.
Teach, Learn, Share
I know all sorts of goofy mundane things so small talk is never a problem. I am also blown away by molecular physics and such. I am amazed by how small we are and how big we can be. I know all sorts of tips and tricks concerning camping and hiking and wilderness stuff. Lets go on a hike with a wildlife book and learn some things together! I also have fun just lounging around maybe drinking a beer and chatting with newfound friends. I love to hear stories about other folks' adventures. Ultimately the best thing that I think can be taught/learned/shared is a good laugh.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can cook and clean and offer an ear. I am also a jack of most trades and am always willing to help out with a project. Plus I have some awesome stories from my adventures!
