About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Learning Icelandic, guitar, and machine learning.
ABOUT ME
My name is Ben.
I'm a scientist. Roboticist. Nerd. Athlete. Aspiring guitarist.
I did my undergraduate degree in physics in Calgary. I think physics is the bees knees. But, I've decided to learn something different: now I'm working on my masters thesis in robotics.
I love to play ultimate frisbee, hockey, and pingpong. Ultimate has always been a fun game to play with friends. Though, last year I stepped up my game by playing for the University's B team. Ping pong is the after dinner activity of choice at my university residence. I played goalie in hockey as a kid, now I just play pond hockey.
One of my favourite parts of being a student is that I get all kinds of great travel opportunities. In my undergrad, I had the chance to live a year in Lund, Sweden. I've got to go to a few conferences scattered throughout Canada. Currently, I'm living in Reykjavik, Iceland, where I'm working with collaborators.

Teach, Learn, Share
Stuff I know a thing or two about:
-Electronics
-Physics (with an emphasis on quantum information)
-Robotics (algorithms, and human-robot interaction)
There's lots of things I'd like to learn more about:
-I've taken a couple of psychology classes, and really enjoyed them.
-I'm trying to learn guitar. Music is something I was anxious about for most of my life. Maybe because my friends and family were all really talented. I've decided to get over it and learn to play the guitar.
