Hi, I'm Benni! I am outdoor-loving, sporty, open-minded and passionate about life, learning and growing. I've just finished school and now I'm out and about travelling and hitchhiking around Latin America eager to meet beautiful people and discover beautiful places.
I love being in nature, be it while surfing, rock climbing, hiking or just sitting under a tree watching and listening to whatever is around me.
I'm also very much into living healthy, which I do by eating a vegetarian diet, doing lots of sport and drinking almost no alcohol.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think it's the perfect concept to bring people of different (or even the same) culture together to learn from one another and grow in the process.

Interests

As already said, I'm into sports, most of all rock climbing and surfing, but really any sport can be challenging and I enjoy that.
Other than that, I'm interested in politics & economics, circus arts (like juggling and acrobatics) and of course travelling.
I also want to get into yoga and meditation, but haven't found the time yet..

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy reading all kinds of books, but especially the ones about distant cultures and travel literature.

My taste in music is pretty diverse, but at the moment I'm really into roots reggae and dub. Bands and artists I enjoy listening to currently are Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd, Trevor Hall, Edward Sharpe & the magnetic Zeros, Bob Marley, alt-J, Guts, Groundation (I'm in love with Groundation, so if you don't know them, check them out!), Of Monsters and Men, Israel Vibration, SOJA, Gentleman, Chinese Man,...

I don't watch a lot of TV, but enjoy watching a good movie from time to time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did an internship at a kindergarten in a township in Capetown. It was truly fascinating how happy those kids were even though they were growing up in really bad circumstances.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm always willing to learn new things! Cooking your favorite food, helping me climb better, learning you local card game, some yoga.. Just really whatever you're passionate teaching about, I will be willing to listen and repeat ;-)
But just talking Spanish to me so I can get better at it would be already enough to make me happy!
Oh.. one more thing: I brought a ukulele with me but can't play it.. So if you know how to play it, please please teach me! :-)

If you surf or rock climb, it would be awesome to catch some waves together or get some climbing done.. So even if you can't host me we could have some fun outdoors!
