About Me

I'm a friendly guy with a love for meeting people from other countries - I love learning more about their cultures, sharing travel stories and speaking English and Spanish. I like intellectual challenges which is why I studied math and work as a part-time programmer (don't worry, I'm not too nerdy ;-).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think couchsurfing is a great way to get to know local people, improve my language skills and learn little "secrets" about the city and country I'm staying.

Interests

I like living in other countries and getting to know foreign people, places and languages. It's especially the small differences in everyday life that I indulge in learning.

Some of my best trips were in Japan and Spain. Since I'm fond of both challenges and sports, I also like to hike in the mountains and to dance.

Music is a big thing, too. I used to play for quite some time in an orchestra, and eventually founded a string quartet.

Having studied mathematics, physics and science stuff is quite interesting to me and I like to learn from other students about their respective disciplines.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did a six-week-hike on the Camino de Santiago, a pilgrim's way through northern Spain. I met a lot of amazing and interesting people there. For example, there was that guy from Argentina carrying a huge wooden cross with wheels all the way from the Pyrenees to Santiago de Compostela.
