About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To get my degrees, travel and learn everything I can. I don't want to ever stop creating and learning to do new things.
ABOUT ME
My name is Benjamin and I am a theology-history double major at Walla Walla University. I'm new to couchsurfing but I love to travel and want to do as much of it as I can. I love to backpack and hike with great people. I try to read and study as much as I can. I specialize in Christian History and Progressive theology. I work as a writer for my University's paper The Collegian. I am an advocate for gay rights humanitarian projects.
PHILOSOPHY
Walk, don’t run.
That’s it.
Walk, don’t run. Slow down, breathe
deeply, and open your eyes because there’s
a whole world right here within this one. The
bush doesn’t suddenly catch on fire, it’s been
burning the whole time. Moses is simply moving
slowly enough to see it. And when he
does, he takes off his sandals. Not because
the ground has suddenly become holy, but
because he’s just now becoming aware that
the ground has been holy the whole time.
Efficiency is not God’s highest goal for your life,
neither is busyness,
or how many things you can get done in one day,
or speed,
or even success.
But walking-
which leads to seeing-
now that’s something.
That’s the invitation for every one of us today
and every day, in every conversation, interaction,
event, and moment: to walk, not run. And in doing
so, to see a whole world right here within this one.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am apart of different groups at my University. I've been on an improvisation team for about a year. I starred in a short film called "The Way." I acted in a play last Spring titled "Oh Gastronomy!" I lead a discussion group once a week where we discuss ethics and moral issues in society. I hope to get my PHD and become a full time writer, teacher and activist.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've never couch surfed before but I am excited to try!
Interests
I like to write, backpack, and read. I've been doing martial arts for many years and i now study tai chi. Most recently I built a ham radio tower and have been making contacts all over the world. I am interested in philosophy, religion, history and literature. I never want to stop learning.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I've done is become more aware of the beauty In the world around me. It changed my life, eating no longer is just eating, working never just working, they are experiences endowed with meaning and significance.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach quite a bit about self defense and the art of peaceful conflict resolution strategies in hand to hand combat. I write for a school paper about religion from a progressive Christian standpoint, I love to discuss life, religion and philosophy.
