About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To meet smart, decent, honest people with a sense of humor to exchange accomdation, skills and friendly mutual aid. Life is hard, decent friends make it bearable.

ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Toronto, been in New York City for 22 years.

I teach, tutor, fix computers and home networks, and renovate houses for a living and play in several punk and old-school metal bands in Brooklyn, NY when not slaving away in Manhattan...

I enjoy metal shows, punk shows, walking dogs, vegetarian food, computer-geeking, noir-mystery novels and improving my Spanish, French and Portuguese. I also run a lot... the air quality in New York City is not as bad as you might think.

Most of all I love meeting smart, decent, interesting, funny people with a good sense of humor and showing them around New York City. Learning from others and hopefully giving something worthwhile in return is my great passion in life.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't be a dick to people... there's already enough people doing that job.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I can host at my apartment in Brooklyn, NY and I am looking to travel to South America, Hong Kong, Italy, Sweden and the UK.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Having several punk bands from Europe and South America come stay with me for a few nights while on tour has been the coolest experience for me. Have learned so much from these amazing people.

Interests

Live music (I play drums and guitar), physical activity (jogging, swimming, yoga), computer geek activities (programming, fixing broken networks for friends and neighbors), volunteer math tutoring for kids in my neighborhood struggling with the crap education system and watching old black-and-white movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Being a brother to my little sister, Anna. She had Down Syndrome and many health struggles but was the most joyful, fun, smartest, strongest person I ever knew (R.I.P.). She taught me more than anyone or anything.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a teacher/tutor, renovation worker, computer technician, musician and accountant. Also do taxes. If that does someone some good, happy to help. I really like helping people with Math in general, because I enjoy it and it's a kick to show other people how logical and simple it really is. Math Anxiety, Adieu.
