About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To seek truth! Oh, and to get my river guiding certification
-My reply rate is so low right now because my couch settings were wrong and I didn't realize it, woops!
ABOUT ME
I am humbly balanced between introvert and extrovert. I'm a south paw and I embrace and resonate most stereotypes that accompany the trait. I am not a religious person. I enjoy art, taking the motorcycle out and finding new and exciting meals to cook.
PHILOSOPHY
I prefer to live as if a heavenly afterlife isn't waiting for me when I die so I'm going to read, climb, ride, taste and experience anything and everything that was put here for me to enjoy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been associated with CS for a few years and have had the pleasure of hosting a few times. It's also been very helpful for me along the road.
Interests
Started painting a few years ago. I've also written a few short stories over the years. Spent one summer as a river raft guide and spend most of the warm seasons on the water. I like exploring new wines and micros and now spend most of my time running a hard cider company. Guitar is a great time filler, as is fishing.

Music, Movies, and Books
Adventurous novels and horror. Books that make me cringe or laugh, usually in the form of short stories or anthologies. Recent books crossed out on my list are everything that Richard Matheson wrote, The Dog Stars, IT, The God Delusion, White Fang, and quite a few biographies. Movies like Into the Wild, Midnight in Paris and Jurassic Park, to name just a few. You can't go wrong with some good French House music or some muddy waters rock.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Riding ATVs along a mexican desert coastline and watching humpback whales jump was a pretty exciting experience. I spent 10 weeks in New Zealand in 2012. AJ Hacket's Bungee jump was great and swimming to the sea cave at Cathedral cove was the best beach experience I've ever had, but canyoning in Queenstown topped them all. Went to Burning Man in 2014 and I hope I'm able to make time for it for the rest of my life.
Teach, Learn, Share
Anthropology will reveal a lot about yourself in a refreshing way. Learn an instrument, maybe. Keeps the brain moving. I recommend hunting an animal, gun or camera is up to you! Indulge in food, don't be picky. What was it Anthony Bourdain said? "When you're at grandma's house, you eat what grandma cooks." Read some Jack London, bet you won't regret it!
