About Me

Tl;dr: Hi, I'm Benji! A traveller, an eater, a reader. Me - and my minion Fred - have been travelling a while and would love to meet up or chill if our paths cross!

CURRENT MISSION

Currently travelling the world on what I like to call THE TRIP. I've slept in 100s of beds, travelled on 100s of buses and met 1000s of great people!

My current mission is to continue this great time in my life!

ABOUT ME

I'm just your regular, young English guy, who grew up in the suburbs of London who happens to be travelling the world.

Having finishing my degree, I thought it was time to travel further afield and experience life all around the world, visiting places that I always wanted to see, tasting foods I have never heard of.

I left in June 2016 and it's been a magical time. I'd love to share some experiences of mine with you.

THE TRIP ITINERARY

* Part One: Working as a camp counsellor in Ontario, Canada, visiting some Canadian cities.

* Part Two: Travelling with family in South Africa for 3 weeks then volunteering for three more

* Part Three: Staying with a friend in Boston, USA over Halloween (I got to go to Salem at Halloween!)

* Part Four: Mexico, Cuba and Central America

* Part Five: South America

* Part Six: Western Europe and Morocco

* Part Seven: Working, again, as a camp counsellor

* Part Eight: Finally heading to East Asia

* Part Nine: Taking it easy in South East Asia

* Part Ten (if I get there): Finishing up in India

PHILOSOPHY

In our world where things try to separate us, it's our duty to find common ground.

"It's better to have failed attempts than to be full of regret"

"Why can't we all just be friends" - Benji

Moon landing? Happened
Aliens? Possible
Religion? Cool.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

During time travelling...

I am looking for Hangouts and Hosts. I try to reply to all request received.
I truly enjoy spending time with my host(s) that fits around their schedule.

When I return home (a.k.a. when I run out of money)...

Mi casa es su casa. I'd love to show you my city as you have me yours!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A varied bunch, I've stayed in Europe and Canada with hosts and each experience was different!

- Sharing laughs with a Norwegian couple, then tears and conversations as Brexit unfolded.

- Enjoying home cooked food and special teas with a girl in Canada.

- Grabbing a cold beer and learning about the local life in Copenhagen

I'd love to meet hosts or other travellers for a bike ride or a wander through a city.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Volunteered for a month in Puerto Vallarta, México with orphaned and underprivileged children - it was the single most important thing I've done with my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the best parts of travelling is wandering around and sharing our experiences and thoughts (and a beer).

I'm a good cook and generous. Being a foodie, I'd love to experience some authentic local food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A fun, laid back guy to hang out with.

Captivating conversation.

A bright outlook and a smile.
