ABOUT ME
:-)
PHILOSOPHY
I have a utilitarian-centered moral outlook coupled with ideals of altruism, quasi-progressive political stances, all meshed together in a framework that predictably is anything but consistent... but I strive to make it moreso. I think one of the goals of life should be to eliminate inconsistencies between competing beliefs, as well as actions. Reasons matter. I think this is a little more refined than what was expected for "personal philosophy," but show 'em if you got 'em, right?
Interests
Philosophy, talking about science/research, long walks, foreign and public policy discussions, improv comedy (spectator), new foods, bike riding (amateur), efficiency, (slowly) becoming a renaissance man, etc.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the more "amazing" things that I have had happen, other than a few exhilarating car accidents, was while hiking Gerome, Turkey. My host and I decided to venture off the demarcated hiking trail on our downward decent from one of the "fairy chimneys" and alarmingly discovered that our steep path was in fact the result of sustained water erosion. Ultimately we had to briskly slide through a snake-infested corridor before lobbing ourselves off a 12-15 foot ledge into a measly shrub to break our fall and avoid jagged rocks.
It was a foolish, honestly terrifying misstep, but oh, what an adrenaline rush! No body parts (esp. spines) were broken in the process. ;-)
