ABOUT ME
I am a student at Heidelberg University, feeling the need to drop out of the regular life from time to time, to get some fresh experiences. There are too many interesting places all over the world and too many cool people to meet to sit at home watching telly while growing old 'n lazy. I always try to be a wonderful host, if you are a nice surfer, and a wonderful surfer, if you try to be a nice host :-) ... so far this worked out quite fantastic! So let's do this!
PHILOSOPHY
"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, wine in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming 'WOO HOO what a ride!'" - Unkown
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I was sceptic when I first participated in Couchsurfing. Thanks to a great Italian dude scepticism vanished within a minute :-) this was the first time I wasn't welcomed as a tourist but as a friend. I think this is exactly how it should be. Surprisingly, I found out that hosting people can be almost as enriching as travelling - even though my purse might disagree ;-)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I couchsurfed two times with a bunch of friends from university to Triest, Italy.

One year later, I tried to conquer Ireland with two of my best friends. We succeeded, of course, but the weather was too bad (cold, wet, foggy, baaaah), so we left one week later. We had the chance to stay with four amazing hosts, as well as two lovely cats and dogs, and a lady who collects tea spoons :-D.
Since then, I met a lot of cool, lovely, crazy, adorably weird, funny and interesting people from all over the globe. Some could have been my parents, some even my kids (well, I did not exactly surf THEIR places :-D) and some definitely are BROs now :-D. I hosted two Americans in Heidelberg, a few Taiwanese as well. Thank you, guys, I had a wonderful time :-)
Interests
Mostly music, at the moment! But also sports, culture, new things in general (i. e. from ice cream to bungee jumping), interesting discussions (partly under the influence of alcohol ;-), my piano (oh hell, I love it). Recently I discovered singing, but maybe you should give a few months of practice:-D

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Every morning in the mirror there is this amazing guy ;-).. no, just kidding.
My first couchsurf experience was one of the most amazing things I've ever done! You know, I started as a sceptic, and was totally overwhelmed by the hospitality and trust given to us by our host in Italy (Thanks, Fede! You're the best :-D ). We went sailing at moonlight, totally drunk, before jumping into the ocean, partying at the shore... exploring World-War-II bunkers at crazy night-time, jumping down a cliff... insane.
Teach, Learn, Share
Due to my studies of molecular biotechnology I have a good knowledge and experience and - of course - an interest in everthing connected to nature, science and technology. Nerd-alert! I love science, but in general I am interested to learn all about things other people are dedicated about. I think I just like to climb trees that are growing beyond my own horizon.
Additionally, I will share all the huuuge experience of live, every drop of beer, every dirty joke and every poetic though popping into my mind ;-)
