The suburb that I live in is called Sunnyvale , it's in west Auckland, about 40 mins by train to the very center of Auckland. Google "Sunnyvale" if you want to have an idea of where you gonna stay.
when there's room available you will have your own room, but most likely you will stay in the couch in the living room. i would say it's pretty comfortable.
