ABOUT ME

Since my wife and I share this profile, we will include a brief summary of each of us.

Like a true 12 year old trapped in a man's body, Ben wishes he could spend his life eating cookies, watching cartoons, and riding waterslides. But alas, the real world and issues like work and bills get in the way of the true pleasures in life. Ben graduated from Colorado School of Mines with degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering. He currently works at Knight Piesold as a civil engineer, working on mines in North and South America. Due to a mild case of ADD, Ben's hobbies and interests are ever-changing, but at any time may include; roller disco, making pointless movies with friends, travel, drawing, knitting, playing harmonica, and of course, annoying Paula at every opportunity possible.

Here are some weird and whacky facts about Paula: 1) always smells her food before eating it , 2) is wickedly fast at puzzles, and 3) absolutely loves Boston Terriers. And here are some more boring things: 1) grew up in Brighton, CO, 2) graduated from the Colorado School of Mines with a BS in Applied Mathematics, and 3) currently working at IHS in the IT Compliance/Security group. Paula’s current hobbies include playing Michael Jackson on the Wii, roller skating, bar trivia with friends, and dancing around the apartment.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Paula and I have only had the opportunity to host one set of official couchsurfers. However, we have hosted a variety of friends from around the world. We have also only been able to couchsurf a few times, but have loved it each time.

We are currently on a long journey around the world so we hope to increase our couchsurfing repertoire.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My previous experiences with CS have been set up by my traveling buddy Justin. We've CSed in Wales and Canada and look forward to expanding to many more countries.

THe only hosting I've done was through my University when international students arrive early and need a place to stay for a few nights. We also had a group of French Canadians stay at our house...it was a blast.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On my first couchsurfing experience my host stripped off his clothes and ate a Romen Noodle sandwich naked in front of us. Shocking? Yes. Hilarious? Absolutely!
