About Me
Hi, I am a human of the Yorkshire variety, who likes playing and dancing to music, tasty books, long walks, swimming in the sea, subverting mindless capitalism and all its consequences, and other things. I earn my bread from teaching and writing, but feel the need to get on my bike or stick out my thumb some times and go on adventures.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Sharing is caring. Have had consistently wonderful experiences with Couchsurfing, both as a host and a guest, over the years.
Interests
I play a lot of music - clarinet, mbira, accordion - and love to be out in nature, especially near the ocean- hiking, making fires, swimming, eating, falling asleep under the stars and waking up to the sound of waves. I also spend a lot of times looking for ways to make the communities I am in stronger and happier.

Music, Movies, and Books
John Coltrane, Nina Simone, John Steinbeck, Warsaw Village Band, Toumani Diabate, Don DeLillo, Phillip Glass... and if i could recommend one book, it would be Beautiful Mutants by Deborah Levy...
Teach, Learn, Share
I try and be open enough to be learning all the time, but that is easier said than done! Learning french at the moment, and I teach music - clarinet, mbira, sea shantys . Love spending time with people who know about the natural world around them, and how to make things with their hands. And I like watching people cook (if it doesn't bother them) and secretly remembering how they did it and then forgetting completely the next day.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can tell you a good story and cook you a good meal, share a few yoga postures and do the washing up...
