About Me

Hello! My name is Ben. I been living in or very near to Minneapolis my whole life, and I really love it here. I went to school here for Sociology and Urban Planning, but I spend my time now as a musician.

In my free time I enjoy getting outside. The beach, camping, hiking, fishing, or even just a nice bike ride to the river to watch the sunset. I'm pretty much always up for a beer around the breweries in NE. The same applies for coffee, sushi, or any great happy hour deal, although lately I've been into cooking more at home.

Over the past few years I've encountered a ton of amazingly beautiful, hospitable, welcoming and humbling people and places. I finally have the opportunity to host and give back to those sorts of experiences for others here in my hometown.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As mentioned above, I've traveled quite a bit the pat few years, and I'm trying to sort of give back to those experiences. I truly think Minneapolis is a great city and I would love to show you why.

Back in the day I used to tour with some bands and we would always end up staying at someones house/floor/apartment/whatever-they-could-offer. It was always a ton of fun and I've made some really great lifelong friends through that. I guess couch surfing is the same idea, but instead of us both being in a band or at the same music venue, we just both have an account on this website.

One of the best parts of traveling is meeting people and experiencing why they love the place they live and what makes it unique. You can book a Super 8 in literally every city, but where is the fun in that?

Music, cities, cultures, beers, anything to do with art is pretty cool with me.

Music, Movies, and Books

I try to like everything as far as music goes. I'm more likely to listen to indie bands, but I'd be lying if I told you I didnt have every Taylor Swift record on my ipod.

Not huge on movies but I do really like stupid comedies and sitcoms. I think Larry David is my spirit animal.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I broke my foot in a scooter accident in Rome. It's not very high on the amazing scale, but it's a good story, and I learned a lot from that experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd love to swap travel tips about our respective hometowns and learn about pretty much anything you're super interested in.

If you're into biking, especially around cities, I'd like to think I'm a great two wheeled tour guide.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good laugh, some sarcastic jokes and a bunch of long winded but funny stories.
