Hi. I'm Benn. I'm a young, novice traveller with dreams of seeing everything there is! I used to be a professional chef in London, but due to an allergy, I had to quit. Since that turn point in my life, I have gone to manage bars and restaurants. I recently got bored of UK life so I decided to give it a go in Paris. We'll see how it goes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I say, I have recently arrived and while I have a semi permanent address, I'm already sleeping on a couch but it might be nice to give my friend and her new boyfriend some privacy as her apartment is somewhat open plan!
Otherwise, I'm told this is a fantastic way to meet new people.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - a disgusting mix of late 90's-00's girlbands/female soloists. I am however, partial to a bit of hard rock, metal, house. Anything you can throw at me!
Movies - come back to me on that!
Books - Philippa Gregory, The white Queen series. Otherwise I'm really into reading about medieval/Tudor/kings and Queens and knights etc. Nonfiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Other than attempting to start a new life alone in Paris.
I went with 150 scouts from Hampshire (I was alone in as much as I knew none of them) to Switzerland for two weeks of camping, intense climbing, partying, more climbing. I descended into a cravasse and fell off my rope. So I had to climb out virtually unaided, both terrifying and amazing!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I don't have anything physical unless you really want to be trading clothes, but I can certainly attempt to impart some cookery skills, if you're wanting to learn spoken English, I can obviously do that!
