About Me

Hi everybody I'm Benny. My hometown Baden is a little underneath Vienna. If you stumbled across my profile and visiting Vienna I'm eager to host you, although I don't live in Vienna myself, but it's just a 20 minutes train hop. I like to philosophy about things, I'm very tolerate and openminded. I like almost every kind of music, play guitar, not well but still. My favorite hobbies are reading books of almost all kinds and learning new languages. I think i'm doing pretty well with spanish, the others range from A1 to B1 I'd say. I'm usually an introvert and calm person, but if you'll bring in the topic it'll likely expand into a nice conversation. I like to cook, I'm a nightowl and of course all my indoor plants have names.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I read two books about courchsurfing which were ridicously funny. It shows so well how much fun you can get out of life, I wanna be part of it. Let's share experiences!

Interests

Almost everything except cars, soccer, tools and stuff like that.
I count myself into the artist/creative type of guy.
I can add my 2 cents to nearly everything.

Lately into Python programming and amateur game development.
Bought some turntables, but I can't get it to work as it should.
I'd like to learn that russian sabre-dance, and someday breakdance maybe.

Music, Movies, and Books

Weakness for all electronic music, also rap or classical, lately even turkish, chinese and russian stuff, mostly pop

Movies all besides mainstream cinema, some of my favourites are City of god, classic Star Wars, Christopher Nolan movies, Ed Wood, Spaceballs, Planet of the apes, Alien, the usual stuff I guess. Pls no Marvel and that type of stuff.

Favorite books? Usually I prefer the guys from last century. Stefan Zweig might be my favorite of all. But since I'm working in the bookstore I read a wide variety of genres, basically everything that has letters.
(Actually I found myself a book which is worthy of being called my favourite book, but as far as I know there are no translations available, so I'm not even going to mention it. If you're curious however....)

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be glad to teach and share my basic knowledge of how to:

make a zipper sound in a beatbox beat,
have a simple conversation in german, english, spanish, turkish, chinese, russian,
program a little textgame in Python,
juggle with 3 balls,
open beer with a lighter,
create a point and click adventure game,
how to 360 flip on skateboard,
play your first guitar rhytms,
actually do the melbourne shuffle,
don't die in dark souls,
loose yourself in meditation,
appreciate the negative things,
write a poem about anything in 3 minutes,
and last but not least how to remember 20 things in correct order guaranteed.

Always happy to learn phrases of your language (:
