About Me

CURRENT MISSION

live and let live

ABOUT ME

Typical Hong Kong boy who plays, eats and sleeps every day. But also a pre-service English teacher who actually wants to be a freelance educator. Enthusiast of people and cultures, and also different cuisines! Love cooking and enjoy cooking for others! (but only Chinese cuisines, like lemon chicken and Ma Po Tofu (= beancurd stewed with spicy pork mince), sometimes pasta and other western dishes but i dont think they are original recipes lol)

*****************************************************
2 years ago I did something extraordinary and won a competition organised by Nokia in Hong Kong and hence a sponsorship of AROUND 1500 EUROS for the first backpacking trip of my lifetime to Germany!! And that's also my first time to know and participate in couchsurfing!!

Here's the site about this Nokia trip (but sry you may needa use google translate - it's in chinese ;( )

Well, what else, um...People say I'm a brave young man, but I'd say I'm just too ignorant of the dangers around me hahaha. (And yes - easygoing and just laugh off any worries hehe)

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not really philosophical, but i do my utmost to get what i crave for! (Like what I did for the sponsorship by Nokia to Germany!)

But, well, one life. Live it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was introduced to CS experience by a friend of mine when planning my first backpacking trip to Germnay in my 1st year in uni, and was fascinated by the hospitality of the hosts met! Since then i've been looking for chances to be a host/guest whenever possible!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

been guests in my first backpacking trip to germany (Berlin, Leipzig, Stuttgart, Augsburg, and Munich)

and just been hosted by lots of nice guys in cities I've just visited! (Birmingham, London, Milan, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Krakow, and Warsaw)

Interests

- Traveling (not just sightseeing but tasting the local slice of lives, e.g. saying "hello" to unknown neightbourhood on the way to school every morning in Lancaster)

- Making friends (i dont mind what kind of person you are cos I never think there's a particular type of personality which is better or worse than any other type. Personality is personality. I enjoy hanging out with quiet, calm guys, as much as those energetic and talkative ones. But I do care if a person's considerate or respectful to others or not.)

*****Sense of others is always appreciated (and this is what I do hope to cultivate in my students)*****

- most outdoors activities (e.g. cycling on sunny days)

and cooking and eating!!!!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm not a reader but just currently reading a fascinating book called The Hapless Teacher's Handbook, which is a biography of an English teacher.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every CS experience that I've ever had!! CS itself is actually amazing already!!

Teach, Learn, Share

Well honestly I think I'm just an ordinary stduent/pre-service teacher, but if you're really interested, I think I can share with you more about my competition for the sponsorship from Nokia for the backpacking trip to Germnay, or my funny encounters in my teaching practice in a high school. (Anyawy I'm really interested in listening to stories of different people!!)

And if you dare to try and take the risk of diarrhoea (or death lol), I can always cook some of my favourite Chinese dishes for you! (But cant promise - if I can buy ingredients in supermarkets or what). If you dare, just tell me so I can prepare some ready sauce!! (yes I cheat hehehe). :)

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Qatar, Spain, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

China, United Kingdom
