ABOUT ME

Hi my name's Benny Im from melbourne in Australia, I prefer the company of relaxed and kind people and don´t care much for "uptight always rights". I really love riding my bike (see profile pic :) ) not for competition, just because it's so much fun. I also love love love hiking, cooking, music (the making and listening parts and music festivals!!! ) and reading (trashy fantasy books and pop sci like books about ants. I like to keep things pretty neat but don't mind mess when the situation calls for it ie, late night drunken flour fights.
I'd like to think I'm pretty chill and welcoming and if I stay on your couch or you on mine that I'd be pleased to meet you.

My life goal is to live on a nice little hobby farm with some pet ducks and maybe a horse, a few sheep and whatnot and to open a pub with a hearty meal dining hall, where my brother would dish out his culinary creations and serve my own brewed beer on tap and to have a recording studio above the pub or at the hobby farm and make gansta rap music.

Also, if the opportunity ever presented itself I would drop everything to go on tour with Tracy Chapman and be her bass player, go sit or stand up the back, out of the spot lights, play a sweet bass note from time to time, and every now and again just say "yeah Tracy, you sing it."

If we meet, I would love to hear your goals too.

PHILOSOPHY

Political philosophy: A more socially liberal version of whatever the hell the scandinavians call their system. Not a socialist, not a libertarian. Both have good ideas.

Word view: Carl Saganism/Dudeism

Life philosophy: I don't care more than I have to for the accumulation of power or money, there are many more valuable things that only love and time can buy. I don't believe in God, I believe in Humanity.

Interests

Making and listening and producing music, hiking, fishing, camping, dress ups, beer enthusiast (dark beers and wheat beers especially) I´ve brewed beer a couple of times and it was great, would like to do more of that. bike riding, bad dancing, some budhist stuff, discussing things with people, especially after the few beers. Science and rationalism.

Music, Movies, and Books

Its hard to say I really like a band cause even bands that mostly put out turd music every now and again release a good song, or bands you think are great release an album of distorted vomiting sounds cause they went to goa, took a bunch of acid and "found themselves" but the following bands for me lay down diamonds more often than stinky turd burgers...

Im not gunna lie, Id like to have read more books, but Im easily distracted, these are some I have read though and thought were great:

Walden, Heart of Darkness, the call of the wild, the picture of dorian grey, dark other adam dreaming, American Gods, The poisonwood bible, Dracula, The black company, game of thrones.

I dont watch films as often as i used to these days but these are some that really got me going:

Fight club, Lord of the rings, Home, Wall-e, the dark crystal, big fish, the big lebowski, the nightmare before christmas, Amelie, O brother where art thou, No country for old men, Fargo, dial M for Murder, the rope, Step brothers. I don't care for the Harry Potter movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

went on exchange to mexico for a year. Went to some sweet caves. Rode my bike really fast. lived in cordoba, moved to dresden.

Teach, Learn, Share

could teach spanish or english, music production, somersaults and judo or how to draw a viking if you're into that.

Im trying to learn the movie step brothers line for line, after that The pinapple express. If you could help me with either of these ground breaking endevours that would be super cool.
