ABOUT ME
ex-USA citizen been in NZ for over 40 years, travelled through the middle east lived in Greece for 5 years in the 70s. lived for shorter periods in Yucatan, Mexico, spain, Holland, Samoa and Japan. I live in a small house I built myself located on the edge of Auckland. There is regular but limited bus service, so it's probably not that convenient if you want to spend a lot of time in the central city. It's a relaxed wooded area with a small harbour beach. I like meeting people from around the world.
PHILOSOPHY
make friends whenever possible/ always follow my own intuition about what to do or not do/ support antiwar activities and activists/ trust people if you want to be trusted yourself

What I Can Share with Hosts
I've been hosting people for more than 30 years, even before couchsurfing was set up. Now that I am older and retired, the reality is that I'm living on small pension and can't afford to be as generous as I have been. Any small contribution that guests can make, making a meal, buying food to share, doing some work around the house, or leaving behind a little cash donation is greatly appreciated and helps pay for expenses like electricity, hot water, gas and household consumables. Thanks in advance.
