ABOUT US:

Carling and I (Ben), live together on a 9acre farm in South Surrey (at about 0Ave and 190th street). Please look that up! Difficult to get to if you don't have a vehicle... but if you get here, the space is awesome and the view of the valley is even better. Here we have a vegetable garden, 24 chickens, a couple cute goats, a woodworking shop, and Carling's store.

We are energetic and giving people... we get innate satisfaction out of other people's happiness... so we love cooking for people, hosting people, and just generally having a good time.

Carling is a carpenter, and works out of our wood-shop in the backyard. She sells furniture and other custom home decor things. Look her up on INSTA: @carlingscountry of at carlings.ca..... she's pretty cool...

..and me. I'm just a lazy big sloth that lies in bed yelling FEED ME periodically throughout the day. Usually after my 2pm bath, I have Carling drive me around town to my favourite ice cream shop and sometimes McDonalds. When I'm not watching TV, I can usually be found on the porch yelling at traffic or chasing the next door neighbours cat.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We're on Couchsurfing for a bunch of reasons... stream of consciousness here we go:

- We love people
- We love interesting people (Carling)
- We love stories
- We love hearing new ideas and mindsets
- We love sharing food
- We like when guest sing to us softly until we fall asleep
- We love foot rubs

And for absolute transparency, it sure is nice having a bucket of good references once we carve out time to travel ourselves.

We are also rebellious of the concept that when you travel, you have to sleep somewhere and that is going to cost you money. We love that Couchsurfing gives hotels and hostels the middle fingers... haha.
