About Me
I've just finished my A levels and am taking this year out before studying Aerospace Engineering at Sheffield next year. I'm currently working part time so I can spend next summer travelling and volunteering at a bunch of festivals.
I try to be open minded and non-judgemental and I enjoy experiencing new places and cultures and meeting new people. It's hard to talk about yourself but feel free to ask me any questions you might have!
Interests
I enjoy cooking, talking and playing cards and monopoly. I also enjoy sports such as football, basketball, snowboarding and running. I also play guitar with some success.
A few topics that interest me are, most aspects and genres of music, science, particularly physics and computing, sports and their psychology (as well as conditioning and self-improvement), steampunk and game theory. I'm aware how pretentious that may sound, and I don't claim to be an expert on any of these topics, they're just things I'd happily talk about.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Too much to list really, some of my favourite bands are Led Zeppelin, Biffy Clyro, Foo Fighters, (Older) Arctic Monkeys, Nirvana, Kaiser Chiefs, Twin Atlantic, RHCP, Pantera, Metallica and Iron Maiden, SOAD, Machine Head and Rise Against. I also listen to a fair bit of blues (e.g. John Lee Hooker, Jeff Beck, Rosetta Tharpe, Howlin' Wolf) some Jazz (such as Miles Davis, Louis Armstrong, Herb Ellis, Estbjörn Svensson Trio) and a little bit of Classical (Mostly Einaudi, Chopin and Mozart). I also love Johnny Cash and Jeff Buckley.
Films:
My knowledge of films is pretty poor, if I had to pick favourites I would say Akira, Mad Max 1 and 4, Rounders, the Departed and Mic-Macs. My favourite actors are Matt Damon, Kevin Spacey, Tom Hanks and Benedict Cumberbatch.
Books:
Series of books I've read and enjoyed include Swallows & Amazons, Alex Rider, The Edge Chronicles, Ian Rankin's Rebus and most of Michelle Paver's books. I've also read books by Kerouac, Krakauer and the first half of Wuthering Heights, but I still have yet to really get into classical literature.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Volunteered at the World Scout Jamboree in Japan as a member of the service team, running a base on the science module.
