ABOUT ME

I am in my late twenties, and very interested in the human experience and learning about different people. I have loved the fair amount of traveling I've done over the short course of my adult life, and I find that I continue to appreciate the discovery of new people and places. Right now life seems like a never ending opportunity for learning. I appreciate people and things most when they contribute to our honest well-being, and to the enjoyment of this journey we've found ourselves on.

PHILOSOPHY

Well, I try to think in ways that work in the given scenario, and in such a way that is positive for myself and others around me. I spent a while in Zen centers and monasteries, but zen is not so hot on sticking to philosophies, and such is the case for me. It's all so changeable! I guess if anything, one can almost always be kind to others and learn from life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have crashed on many couches in my life- not many total strangers, though. I've caught craigslist rides and couch surfed across Montana to Portland. I bus almost anywhere I travel to in the States, staying with friends along the way. I have, in contrast had people sleep on my coach, in some cases even for a month at a time. I love to accommodate others.

Religion, spirituality, and the art of living; most definitely alpine skiing, cycling of all kinds (especially mountain), education, theater of all kinds, all kinds of music from Biggie Smalls to Pavoratti, cooking, peacebuilding

Music, Movies, and Books

I love almost all types of music- some excessively poppy tunes can get old fast. Being a performance major in college, I love to watch live performances of all kinds- definitely classical, but I love to see a performance take its shape in whatever way it comes, whether it be a rock show or even a WWE match. I enjoy nonfiction books more than anything.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once saw a friend bend a spoon, psychic style. She had never done anything like that before, and needless to say I was rather flabbergasted. I was sitting right next to her.

Teach, Learn, Share

I spent a while in a Zen monastery, so I know a good bit about meditation. I can also teach you how to ski if we are somewhere with snow (taught skiing for 6 years).
