Overview
About Me
I live in the country about an hour's drive southwest of Copenhagen. It's a beautiful area with forest, lakes, rolling hills and little villages. I've lived here for 20 years with my Australian husband. We have 2 grown up kids that are 21 and 25 years old and live in Copenhagen.
I'm a creative person. For the last 5 years I've been painting - mostly acryllic. I paint nature (surprise!) in a more or less abstract way. Earlier I used to sing jazz, latin, country, blues and more. Might take that up again! I also like to write. One of my ambitions - perhaps on the next travel - is to try writing poetry.
In my professional life I'm a forest- and landscape ingeneer. I work with biodiversity and my job is mainly to create nature conservation projects, convert production forest to natural forests and to plant new forests.
I've been doing a lot of stuff in my life so far - and I like to tell stories about it if the situation is right. I have travelled solo in South America, been a boat bum, worked in Spain and Turkey, driven night taxi in Copenhagen just to mention some.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Now our kids have moved out and the old wanderlust is waking up inside me, so this summer I've been interrailing solo in Eastern Europe. I didn't manage to stay with any hosts, but I participated in hangouts with some wonderful people.
I'll be happy to receive someone here in my home, when I've created the necessary space - if anyone should venture that far away from the big smoke :)

Music, Movies, and Books
Music: I have a pretty weird taste ranging from jazz over Latin American over African to old school country/ bluegrass + a lot more. Spotify's having trouble categorizing me it seems.
Movies: I love the Coen Brother's movies. I'm having trouble remembering names of movies that I like. I try to alså watch plenty of stuff that ISN'T American. Last night for instance I watched a good Argentinean movie on Netflix - think it was called The Substitute.
Books: Well I'm not that up to date with the latest literature but I can say that for the trip that I'm about to start, I've bought 2 paperbacks - Patti Smith's "Just Kids" and Murakami's "Colourless Tsukuru Tazaki". One of the best books I've read is "The Road" by late Cormac McCarthy.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Watching a school of dolphins illuminated by luminescent algea in the middle of the night in the middle of the Atlantic. They were playing in the small waves from the sailing yacht and I was alone on watch.
Teach, Learn, Share
I guess this is a question about what I can teach, learn and share...
Well I can teach some painting, english and probably other things. I would like to learn how people live and think in the countries I visit. I wil be happy to share a lot of stories from my life and to tell about life in Denmark and the meaning of "hygge".
What I Can Share with Hosts
The above plus maybe cooking something nice and spicy :)
