Über mich
CURRENT MISSION
Finding a place to grow vegetables in UC Irvine. Perhaps some Gorilla Gardening.
ABOUT ME
Friends & food. I love to cook, and to share lots (and lots!) of curries, or giant vegetarian lasagne, or pizza (I use a sneaky piece of granite to stone bake!) around a table with friends and wine. Oh, and I make carrot cake. Smile, laugh, chat and maybe a dance. Should I say travel? but I guess that's all of us here!
PHILOSOPHY
"Infinite growth of material consumption in a finite world is an impossibility." E.F. Schumacher

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Inspired by phenomenal hospitality in Spain this summer to give something back! Steffi and Femke, thank you so much! Libby you will be the best tour guide in San Sebastian, good luck with the new job!
Interessen
I love Cycling - it's the only way to get around (like popping over the channel to see the Tour de France, and accidentally cycling to Spain). I also love fixing things, so if your a cyclist and fancy a cup of tea and some repairs thrown in, feel free to drop me a message.
I'm also passionate about the world that we all share, with an interest in sustainability. Some things I love about Bristol,

Bristol Bike Project: http://www.thebristolbikeproject.org/
A love of Architecture, some buildings which I have a particular soft spot for are: the ARoS Aarhus Kunstmuseum and the Wales Institute for Sustainable Education, (CAT), Machynlleth. Also rarely seen travelling without the camera, particularly Landscape/Travel Photography and recently capturing some of urban art (Graffiti).
Science, yep Science, I'm a terrible geek and love to learn & share obscure knowledge. Particularly fond of things big (the universe...) and small (attempting to understand the Physics/Chemistry of molecules interactions with light). One day I might even be a Scientist, perhaps.

I like all sorts of music, just about anything, but perhaps a relaxed afternoon with a big steaming mug of tea and some Parov Stelar, Sigur Rós and The National. Lots of live music too, and I like to visit art galleries, museums and independent exhibitions and cinemas.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
Staying with the Nordic Black Theatre aboard the MS Innvik, a boat with a £500 million pound view - The Oslo Opera House (one of my favourite buildings) is a giant white Italian marble iceberg sliding into the sea, I loved clambering over the building (you can walk right up the roof!) to see all of Oslo and watching the sunset.
Hot air ballooned at sunrise across Cappadocia, Turkey, looking down at the Fairy Chimneys and Cave houses.
Bumping into Donnie, Char, Matty and Chris on their Cycle To Sahara charity ride (http://www.cycle-to-sahara.co.uk/ and http://cycle2sahara.blogspot.com/). Amazing people and I hope lifelong friends.
