About Me

**Still learning how to use this site, used to live in Brighton but currently in Shropshire at the moment although moving to the South West hopefully sometime soon for personal/family reasons.**

As a passionate singer and guitarist that used to do busking almost every day but have knocked it on the head a little bit since writing a non-fiction book a year ago and now I'm concentrating on promoting it and also have some public speaking events coming up across the country at universities etc.

The book is about my childhood as a runaway and living/sleeping rough on the streets of London as a missing teenager whilst being hidden in plain sight.

I'm a vegetarian, early school leaver, a care leaver and despite upon hearing my background and past some people might presume I'm a bit of a party animal but I'm actually quite laid back these days and if it wasn't for the fact I still like a good chin wag with some light drinking once in a blue moon - I'd tell you I was boring.

Used to be a campaigner, but on stuff more outside the real of mainstream activism.
I tend to campaign about stuff I feel really needs a bigger boost in awareness which is often harder than it seems but nothing in life comes easy without a few oddballs ay!

Anyway I won't go on too much. I'm sure there's a way to ask more questions etc on this site (We'll see, I've never really used it until now)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can't afford to do hotels even though I've done them, and it's a boring life if you can't do any busking and to be honest I've been on computer-lockdown with my book stuff for far too long and I feel my life is actually really boring at the moment so perhaps this is a bit of a cheaper way and more fun way of doing things whilst meeting some people, soaking in their inspiration and even possibly a good way to promote my book.

Interests

I don't get out enough these days as I've bitten off way more than I can chew with this self-published venture lol.

Writing music, discovering new places, meeting new people, erm..... lol...... erm...... guitar, singing (I've said that haven't I) erm.... Things that affect people in society, in particular rights for those from disadvantaged backgrounds. Currently doing my part in sharing my perspective to those working with runaways.

Good deep-thought conversations, just learning about the world in general and trying to improve myself.

Music, Movies, and Books

Reggae, Bob Marley, Dub Pistols, 90's classics, Ambient stuff, world music, all sorts really.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Recently read the book I'm promoting at a conference on Runaways at European Parliament in Brussels. (Was actually my first time ever outside of the UK)
That was pretty cool.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm presuming I'm filling this question in right.

What I can teach - Basic guitar although as a self-taught wingin-it'er there are far better teachers out there than me.
How to self-publish a book, publish it at a printers or on amazon createspace.
How to set up social media and share a few tips I learned to help get me started and basic networking tips for starters.

As for Learning I am open to all sorts, there is so much I want and need to learn, even in the fields I'm currently involved in.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I thought I'd just answered this.

As for the teach, learn, share section - Not that I'm volunteering for slave labour but I can also help out if you need an extra pair of hands. Not that I'm skilled in DIY or anything but if it's anything you could train a caveman to do such as moving heavy/bulky items then I'm at your service!
