ABOUT ME

I am quite tall, unfortunately my appetite has grown with me. I like swimming and snorkeling, jogging and hiking. Had to give up scuba diving for health reasons.
I like music and reading and films - must confess I read and watch mainly crime stories, science fiction, fantasy.
I have a wife, two grown-up daughters and a little son.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For now I must say, I'm just trying to get the hang of it. I hope to meet people who just enjoy the company and a chat.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met a brilliant guy in Sheffield via couchsurfing, did some hiking and talking together, great!
Otherwise, I have to confess I was not very active on couchsurfing the last years. Quite busy with my family. In 2016 traveling alone to Thailand, meeting some very interesting people via Couchsurfing.

Musik, Filme und Bücher

Music: Old-fashioned Rock & Pop, also Tanita Tikkaram, Susan Vega, Passenger.
I read and watch mainly crime stories, science fiction and fantasy.
Books: Classics like Dashiell Hammett, Raymond Chandler, Doroty Sayers, Poul Anderson, Bob Shaw, but also contemporary authors like Ian Rankin and Stig Larsson - and, of course, travel guides. Big fan of 'The Hobbit' and 'Lord of the Rings', though 'The Hobbit' is my favourite of J. R. R. Tolkien
Films: Comedies by Mel Brooks, nearly all action / fantasy / science fiction / western / eastern, though it should not be too hard - the older I get, the less I can abide brutal stuff.

Night dive in the red sea - jumping from the boat into total blackness was like jumping out into nothingness...

I am interested in languages and ethnics, always like to learn a bit and share my own knowledge or thoughts.
