About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get an income while travelling.

ABOUT ME

I'm an easy-going 27 year-old Swedish-born but travel-torn lad who runs a travel blog you can find at www.backpackvagabond.com check it out if you want to learn more about me and my mission.

At the moment I'm in Stockholm, Sweden, working to save up for an extended stint of travelling and preparing to study remotely at the same time. If you want to meet a guy who loves to show travellers around, give them tips and information: just give me a shout and we'll sort something out. Worst case scenario you can always swing by the bar where I work, have a good beer (or an orange juice if you don't drink) and we'll have a chat - traveller to traveller, about anything you want to know about this country. Since I've spent more time outside of my homeland over the past 6 years than in it, I have a different perspective on what it means to be Swedish than most of the locals do.

PHILOSOPHY

My philosophy is to be open, help others in need and respect everyone and everything around me.

I think you need to travel to gain a certain perspective on life. I try not to judge people, and I try to show respect and understanding for people's different situations. That doesn't mean I can't assert myself if I believe something is wrong.

I always enjoy helping other travellers out with tips that will take them off the beaten track. I've even personally guided random travellers around the city, just because I actually find it entertaining and always like making a new friend. It reminds me of my own days on the road.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am currently looking to host some surfers, and I can also meet up for a beer, coffee (or fika as we say in Sweden) and show you around the city.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only friends or friends of friends so far. But it's been great, met a lot of cool people that way. Will be looking to do some proper couch surfing as I hitch hike to England in November.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: Into the Wild

Music: Lots of chilled out tunes, or rock/metal, or hip-hop. My tastes are diverse.

Books: Is it predictable to say I enjoy reading Bill Brysons books? Currently I'm reading a non travel related book called "The gospel according to Biff" it is hilarious. Just finished Jon Krakauer's book Into Thin Air. He wrote into the Wild. This book is about his experience climbing Mount Everest and the disaster that claimed several of his team mates lives as well as the guides who took them up there. Very gripping as he deals with survivor's guilt.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'd have to say riding in the Rocky Mountains near Calgary, AB is one of my favorite experiences. The view, the freedom, the feeling.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Photography, anything Scandinavian, packing, web design and development, beer and cocktail knowledge. How to get a job on the road.

Learn: Languages, more of anything I already know.

Share: Stories, photos, good times.
