ABOUT ME
A rare breed, in the best possible way. Creative, reflective, patient, accepting, charming, awesome, yadayada. A tad timid with total strangers, but I quickly warm up, especially with like-minded individuals. Part of the intended side-effects of my Euro-trip is to abolish said timidity.
I have a strange blend of 'go with the flow' and 'you make your own destiny' that I find is lacking in a lot of people. People often either take things too seriously, or not enough. Balance between the two is relatively rare.
I also possess actual common sense and morals.
Non-smoker
PHILOSOPHY
Live life your own way, but your freedom stops where the others' start.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can't offer a couch in my present situation, but I'd be glad to show people around my area!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Surfed 4 times in Europe with a friend. With Samira in Berlin, Alexandra in Dresden, Marieken and Griet in Ghent and Elodie and Claire in Paris. Each time was just utterly awesome! I'm still amazed at how there were no awkward moments when we first met our hosts.
Also surfed around in Quebec a couple times too!
Interests
A swell good time!
Art, but in the appreciation and creation, not the "knowing every painter/sculptor/etc and what he/she/it did and the dates". I'm not a historian, nor do I want to be one.
Outdoors, scenery, good air, exercise, feeling connected with nature.
Speedball/Paintball, it's just an awesome game. Was on a semi-pro team with actual sponsors and everything a few years ago.
Wouldn't be honest if I didn't say video games.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Wheel of Time series from Robert Jordan is truly great for anyone with an active imagination wanting an awesome reading experience. A good lighter read was Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials series.
Anything that doesn't fall into overused clichés.
Music needs to make you feel, think. Needs to have actual music or melody (more than a beat and a few chords repeating) and at least have less than 50% of the song be chorus. Blue Man Group, In Flames( their instrumental pieces are GREAT!), Video game remixes are nice examples, among many.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Spent a night lying down on a quay on a mirror-lake surrounded by quiet forest, no cars, no electricity, no noise, watching an Aurora Borealis.
Teach, Learn, Share
An easy share is language, either French or English I can teach easily enough (you'll know more than before anyway, that's guaranteed ;P), and I'd like to learn some German.
I have some easily-transferred art-knowledge, too.
