About Me

---I'M NOT IN BODRUM DURING MY ACADEMIC TERM, WHICH MEANS FROM OCTOBER TO JUN. IN THIS PERIOD, I AM LIVING IN ISTANBUL, BUT STAYING DORMITORY, SO I CANNOT HOST YOU, YET STILL I CAN SHOW YOU AROUND AND HELP TO EXPLORE ISTANBUL---

I was born in Bodrum, Muğla. It is a small but well-liked town in west of Turkey, and my family still live there. I grown up in Ankara, the capital of Turkey. Then I lived for four years in Aydın, to complete my high school education. After that, I moved to Istanbul and now I'm studying law in Koc University.
I regret to say that, I live in dormitory in Istanbul which means I can't have you as guests. But if you come to Istanbul any time of year -except summer- I would like to accompany you when you discover Istanbul. :)
Because of my education and that I have to be in Istanbul during the academic year; I can be in Bodrum only three months of year, in summer. If you travel to Bodrum in this time period, I will be really pleased to host you. Additionally, Bodrum is very crowded in this term of year. Maybe you like the crowd and literally a small metropol; but I prefer the idyllic nature of the city, so if you come in the beginning of summer -which is corresponding to the end of May - or end of summer -which is corresponding to beginning of September- you may discover the city more plentifully.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined to CS four years ago, but because of some personal reasons I couldn't devote enough time to edit my CS profile. I'm beginner here and I'm really excited to meet new people. :)
-So, why I'm on CS?
I travelled 8 countries and totally 12 cities in 2015, by bus. I couldn't stay any settled accomodation and it was a little tough for us to sleep in bus for two weeks. But I know that, especially in popular cities, hotel prices could be very high for travellers. For instance, in Bodrum both city life and accomodation is so expensive , if I can help travellers and meet new people; I will be very happy!
On the other hand, this situation is valid for me too when I'm travelling. I want to meet new people, make new friends from different cultures and discover authentic aspects of their cities. :)

Interests

I love travelling when I find a chance. I hope, I will be a real traveller someday. :)
Apart from this, I really like drawing and painting. Nowadays, I'm trying to improve my skills in this area.
I'm interested in literature, specifically Turkish and Iran literature; especially poems, I'm trying to analize them and find myself in verses.
My favorite authors are Oguz Atay, Sadik Hidayet, Tezer Ozlu, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Hermann Hesse, Charles Bukowski and Franz Kafka.
My favorite poets are Turgut Uyar, Nazim Hikmet, Didem Madak and Furug Ferruhzad.

Music, Movies, and Books

I always like to listen music, but the type of this music can change according to my mood. So, I cannot determine a specific category; however I don't prefer listen heavy metal or pop music. Mostly, I listen folkloric and ethnic types.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Travelling to Iran alone!

Teach, Learn, Share

-I can cook you some meals from traditional Turkish cuisine and teach some dance figures from Turkish folkloric dance!
-We can draw together and I can teach you some basic drawing techniques, if you want.
-We can share our culture and everything related with culture, that is the main point I think!

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I mentioned above, I really want to accompany my guests to discover the city and spend time with them.
We can go swimming, scuba diving or fishing in summer season.
I'm living with my family in Bodrum, in a small, single family house.
We have a wide garden, three dogs and two cats :)
Our guests can stay in a private room with a double bed.
