About Me
CURRENT MISSION
my mission? keep moving! :o)
ABOUT ME
hmmm, describe myself ... it's difficult to explain the diversity I feel about myself ...
A part of me always wants to keep moving, be out in nature, spend days hiking up in the mountains with just a backpack, having tent and sleeping bag and food with me, keep walking for hours, just find a place to sleep whereever it's nice, be independent and feel how little you really need to survive.
Another part of me wants to dress nicely, go to the theatre or feel the elegant atmosphere of a typical Austrian ball while dancing the Cha Cha, Rumba, Tango or Quickstep.
And then there is also the social me, that wants to meet people, have some glasses of wine while chatting,
play the guitar and just feel comfortable.
Not to think of the technical me that has studied computer science (yes, one of the few girls in that area) and is eager to learn and try new things (have I mentioned my faible for languages?).
Well, I guess it is best if you just get to know me and decide, which part of me you're talking to! ;o)
PHILOSOPHY
Two roads diverged in a wood and I -
I took the one less travelled by
and that has made all the difference.
(Robert Frost)
Freiheit heißt nicht,
tun zu können, was man will,
sondern nicht tun zu müssen,
was andere wollen.
Menschen, die die Berge lieben,
widerspiegeln Sonnenlicht.
Die andern, die im Tal geblieben,
verstehen ihre Sprache nicht.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've had a great time couchsurfing in Sydney, Hobart and the rest of Australia. Everywhere I've met really nice people. You're never alone if you are a couchsurfer!
And then talking about the Vienna group ... Coming to Vienna and not knowing anyone, I was never alone, there's always something going on! When I had to move out of my flat, there were so many peole helping me and offering to host me - it is great to be part of such a community like the Viennese one! Thank you, all you lovely Couchsurfing people! :o)

Music, Movies, and Books
the more my love for the mountains grows, the more I listen to STS (an Austrian band). there is nothing better after a long trip in the mountains than sitting in the car and listening to some down to earth songs of STS!
apart from that I love the Beatles and other bands from the 60s and 70s, like ABBA, Doors, Stones, Bob Dylan, ...
basically I listen to every kind of music except stuff like techno, house, metal - I prefer the softer genres of music
for reading (if I just had more time for that ...) and films I love fantasy-stories (I could watch the mountains views of Lord of the Rings again and again and again ... and it's not just because of the marvellous mountain views ;o) )
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
watching the sun rise at 6088 metres above sea level
hitchhiking in Tassie and then along the east coast of Australia - meeting so many warm hearted and fascinating people there :o)
